Join the MVK Staff Tour
With no entries into last month’s Best Ride Contest, we were faced with an unusual scenario – no Thursday event for September. With only a few short days to remedy the situation, we quickly passed out hard hats to MVK Staff members and told them to start building! The result of their hard work is a 20-room ride called the MVK Staff Tour! Each set of rooms you see tonight were designed and built by the Staff member they represent – each has special meaning to that person. So pack your bags and join the fun as we take a road trip through tonight’s “Staff” event! STAFF_Bamboo will open the doors at 8 p.m. CT.
World’s Fair Sponsor List
The World’s Fair has returned to My Town and brought with it the World’s Fair II Best Room Contest! This year, the World’s Fair Exhibition Hall and 5 pavilion areas are open once again. Sponsors from around the Kingdom want you to create their pavilion for the Fair including some new sponsors that have yet to participate in a World’s Fair. Everyone who enters and creates a room will receive an exclusive Limited Edition Hat!
Entering is as easy as 1-2-3:
- Go to the Contest Entry at the World’s Fairgrounds room. A panel in that room will allow you to select your room entry for the contest. Only one room can be created per pavilion sponsor. Before making your room decision, read this post to see what each pavilion sponsor would like you to create. Then visit the MVK Gallery to see what items are going to be released this month. This can help you decide if you’ll have what you need to create your room.
- On the day after you make your room selection, Staff will give you half of the special Pavilion Portal for you to place in your contest room. This portal will connect your room entry to the correct area-themed pavilion. In keeping with the fun, come-and-go atmosphere in a fair, place the portal right away so that others can step into your room.
- Place the Best Room Contest Marker in your entry room! This will let Staff know your room is finished and now ready to become part of the Trek on September 29th and 30th.
Make your contest room choice carefully! Once made, you cannot change or trade for another option. Remember, only one room is created per pavilion sponsor. September 24th is the last day to enter. As with all MVK Contests, please have your room ready to go on that date, late requests will not be honored.

World’s Fair II
When we learned that the World’s Fair was slated to return to the Kingdom this year, we jumped for joy! Thinking back over the innovative pavilions that everyone created last year made us all the more excited to share the news of World’s Fair II with you!
Follow the sign at the end of Corner Crossroads and you’ll soon stand in front of the beautiful glass building, resembling the famous Crystal Palace at the 1851 World’s Fair in London in the World’s Fairgrounds. 
Step inside and you’ll be standing in Exhibition Hall which leads to the 5 themed areas of the Fair: Amusement, Industrial, International, Realm, and Transportation. In this year’s World’s Fair II Best Room Contest, companies from all around the Kingdom are ready to sponsor pavilions in the themed areas, but they need your help creating the room! We are excited to announce that new sponsors have stepped forward to have a pavilion created! Before you step into the Contest Entry booth at the fairgrounds, be sure to read the Contest Post to see what each sponsor is requesting their pavilion to be like. Everyone who enters will receive a special prize and the room you create will also become part of a Staff Trek on September 29th and 30th! Stop by Exhibition Hall often to visit the portal-connected room entries as they are being created.
There are even more exciting activities planned for this month that include Fair-themed events, Friday sales, Contests, Poll questions, Mission Rewards, Treks and more. When planning this theme, we knew that the Midway Realm’s yet-to-be-opened Mini Game, AquaDucks, would be the perfect event to hold on the 24th. If you’re interested in attending the grand opening event of this steampunk-themed rubber duck game, be sure to save the date! Have fun and enjoy this month!
The ‘buzz’ around the Kingdom is this Trek is all about bees! With bee trivia, questions, Court Maze games and more, this Bumblebee Trek also rewards you with a bee-themed prize. Buzz over to Information Central today, where you’ll ‘bee’ able to begin this Trek. Important Notice: This Trek provides no danger to avatars who are allergic to bee stings.
Halloween is just around the corner which brings us to this month’s Best Game Contest. We’re looking for an extra-spooky game with a Halloween theme to be played as the Thursday Staff Events in October. Dust off your Mindyer Manor-themed rooms (or not, cobwebs look great) and begin building today!
Here are some thoughts to keep in mind as you create your game:
- Make your game fun and easy to understand by those playing it. Complicated rules make games confusing.
- Test it out with your friends, before you have Staff test it. This lets you get a feel for how your game will flow when it is being played by a group of people.
- Have you thought of making it multi-player? Working as a team or playing in a group makes it fun for everyone.
- Purchase the Best Game Marker from Outfitters and place it in your room to enter the Contest. Once your marker has be placed in your game room, Staff will then look for you to test your game.
- The last day to enter the contest is September 24th.
- The winner of the Best Game will receive these prizes: a 2015 Best Game Sign, a Best Game Award Pin, 1500 coins, recognition in the Newsletter and on MyVirtualKingdom Facebook AND their game will be featured as the Thursday Staff Events in October!

Ciao! This month’s puzzle has an extra-special design that include you and all of your friends in the Kingdom’s most iconic room – Gateway! How do you earn the pieces to the Gateway Puzzle? Simply ride the Gondolier’s Canals in Venice each day. This 12-piece puzzle is fun and easy to put together and will earn you prizes if you are judged as correct at the end of the month not to mention you’ll have a rug with your character on it!
You may wonder, “Where do I put my Puzzle together?” MVK has provided you with your own Puzzle Gallery room in which to place each month’s puzzle. Use furnish mode to place the puzzle pieces. We show you the location of top left piece on the floor to get you going and also give you an example of what the completed puzzle looks like on the wall. Give it a try! If you are correct you will earn a Gateway Puzzle Award, a Gateway Puzzle Pin and each of the puzzle pieces will become rugs for you to decorate with. You simply can’t lose!
The Mission Reward item has changed to the newest prize – Space Debris Game Pin. It will only be available from September 1st-15th. If you have been collecting the other Mini Game pins, this is a great addition!
You can earn a Mission Reward very simply! Just complete the daily Mission. The Mission machine is found in Sam’s Tomorrow Realm in Mission Deck, just off of the Tomorrow Hub. It takes 12 Mission Rewards to redeem for the latest prize, so be sure to do your Mission each day. Whether you do easy or hard, Missions are worth the time, for the coins and for all the great items you can possibly get!
For the first time in the history of the Best Ride Contest, there were no player-created rides entered and therefore there will not be a player-created event on Thursday nights in September.
The Kingdom has voted and the count is in! The results were extremely close! Congratulations goes to Purrypaws, the winner of the Best Personal Room Contest for August! Purrypaws received these Best Room prizes: a Best Room Award Pin, 2015 Best Room Award Sign and 1500 coins. Silly, MermaidMelusina and urakan received a 2015 Honorable Mention Award Pin. Way to go!
