Each of the arcades games that we are focusing on this month were originally 16-bit games. Therefore we’ve issued the 16-bit Challenge as the Kingdom’s Best Ride Contest for April. Each player who creates a ride room for this challenge will get their entry added to the 16-bit Challenge Staff Event as a “level” in this massive arcade game event at the end of the month! Here are all of the details:

  1. Keep your ride to one room. Please leave room for portals at the beginning and at the end of the ride.
  2. Make your 16-bit Challenge ride, following one of these 3 arcade game designs. Decorate it up, but keep a central theme such as: a Realm, Mini Game, area in the Kingdom, etc.!4_1516bitChallenge1
      • Pac-Man – One themed room with a walled maze of track to find your way out of while avoiding dangers (e.g. ghosts). Be creative! Junctions add unpredictability to your “level”.

      • Frogger – One themed room with track and obstacles (e.g. chairs, junctions, portals) to overcome as you try to cross to the other side of “level”. Will you cross a busy My Town road, sea monster-filled moat, asteroid-filled galaxy, etc?

    • Super Mario Bros. – One themed room with some track on top of cubes. What will you encounter along your journey through the “level”? Turtle shells, chance cubes, or other bonuses/dangers!

Examples of each design can be experienced after each Staff Event this month. This is just to give you an idea of somewhere to start with your ride. Be creative, make it fun!

  1. Staff will test every ride, so place the Best Ride Marker found in Outfitters in your room to let them know you are ready to test it. Staff will know to look for you by your marker being placed. The last day to enter is April 24th.

After all the games have been tested, Staff will take all of the contest entries, group them by game type and connect them end to end, with the Best Ride winning room as the first room or “level” to completeYou can travel through each of the “levels” in this unique arcade game-style event on Thursday, April 30th! While there’s no special prize for entering, you will receive an exclusive prize at the 16-bit Challenge Staff Event!
*Because we are featuring this fun Staff Event on the above listed date, the Best Ride winner will not be a Staff Event in May.
